It seems as though the folks who lived in this house prior to our arrival, had a thing for mushrooms. Bill, the husband, would apparently grow them in the front yard. Big platter shaped things that have a remarkable look - almost like a tree stump. It wasn’t wet enough this year for those to really take off. But there are plenty of big fungus around.

I found this one in the foundation bed near our house. It looks nothing like the ones in the front yard, but it’s pretty impressive nonetheless. Into the compost it goes!
